Baloch Separatists’ Foreign Connections

  Baloch Separatists’ Foreign Connections:
Although Pakistan’s security forces have successfully been coping with the Taliban militants in the tribal areas, yet situation has deteriorated in Balochistan where subversive events like targeted killings, attacks on buildings, oil pipelines etc. have intensified. In fact, with the tactical support of the US and Israel, India have been supporting feudal lords (Sardars) of Balochistan to oppose country’s federation. These external elements have also been providing arms and ammunition to the Baloch separatist leaders.

Notably, on August 14, 2009, Financial Times (online) had reported “Settlers from other parts of Pakistan, especially Punjab, have been given deadlines to leave.”  As a matter of fact, this is what the Indian plotters wanted by inciting the general masses of Balochistan to openly speak against the federation of Pakistan and the Punjabis for all the injustices, created by the Baloh feudal lords (Sardars) who have been fighting for their own so-called status, prestige and influence, while working on the agenda of foreign countries.

Although Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has repeatedly stated that Indian secret agency, RAW supports separatism in the province of Balochistan, and its evidence will be shown to the western countries at the right occasion, yet Indian intervention in Balochistan is not confined to verbal statements, it has in fact proved. In this context, the Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA), New Delhi organised a seminar titled: South Asia 2020 in relation to Balochistan. In their speeches, various scholars and thinktanks maligned Pakistan in one or the other way.

Besides the seminar, on November 5, 2009, a secret conference titled: “Pakistan is Problem in Balochistan” was organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi. It was headed by the former secretary of RAW and Indian former chief of army staff. In that conference,           Ful Story

Uniting against the Foreign Enemies

At present, Pakistan and its security forces are facing suicide attacks, bomb blasts, sectarian violence and targeted-killings coupled with intermittent battles with the militants. Besides many innocent persons, more than three thousand military soldiers and police men have become martyrs in this different war in maintaining the integrity of the federation.

It is notable that some opportunist elements like the US, India, Afghanistan and Israel are in collusion as part of a plot to ‘destabilize’ Pakistan for their common strategic interests. For this purpose, American CIA, Indian secret agency RAW and Israeli Mossad including Blackwater have rapidly established their collective network in Pakistan. They have recruited Pakistani nationals who are vulnerable and can work on payroll, giving them high financial incentives to work for them. Further, some reports suggest that this notorious firm Blackwater has been recruiting smugglers, employees of the security companies, experts of the psychological warfare, scholars and journalists in order to fulfill anti-Pakistan designs of America, India and Israel.

Notably, Pakistan’s military leadership has been revealing that RAW, Mossad and other foreign agencies are involved in supporting insurgency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and separatism in Balochistan including acts of terrorism in other cities of Pakistan.Uniting against the Foreign Enemies:  Ful Story

Drone Attacks Sabotage the US Interests

In one of the major drone attacks, more than 40 civilians and policemen were killed when on March 18 this year, an unmanned US aircraft fired four missiles into a building in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.
Although drone attacks have continued intermittently on Pakistan’s tribal areas in the last few years, which have killed many people, yet this strike was so lethal that on the same day, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani strongly condemned it as “unjustified and intolerable” and said it was a violation of human rights. He elaborated, “A jirga of peaceful citizens including elders of the area has been targeted carelessly with a complete disregard to human life. He further indicated, “Such an act of violence takes us away from our objective of elimination of terrorism…it was imperative to understand that this critical objective could not be sacrificed for temporary tactical gains”, adding that “security of the people of Pakistan, in any case, stood above all.”

Next day, while reacting to the US-led drone strike, Islamabad summoned the US ambassador, Cameron Munter, and lodged a strong protest, telling that Washington should not treat Pakistan as a client state, demanded an apology and explanation from the US. In this respect, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Salman Bashir also conveyed to Munter that under the current circumstances, Islamabad would not participate in the trilateral meeting among Afghanistan, Pakistan and the US—likely to be held in Brussels on March 26.
Besides other similar strikes of the past, especially gravity of this attack could be judged from the fact that it has triggered a backlash in North Waziristan and other tribal areas.     Ful Story

No Pressure: Pak-US Mutual Dependence

No Pressure: Pak-US Mutual Dependence:
In the recent months, there has been pressure from the US that Pakistan should launch a military operation in North Waziristan. Particularly, after Faisal Shahzad attempted to bomb Times Square in New York on May 1 this year, this pressure increased. US President Barrack Obama dispatched White House National Security Adviser Jim Jones and CIA Director Leon Panetta who were recently in Pakistan. In this regard, our media anchors and reporters misperceive that these American high officials have urged Islamabad to immediately start military offensive in North Wazirstan in order to eliminate the Haqqani network which has provided the militants of South Wazistan with safe-havens.

The fact of the matter is that being a sovereign country, Pakistan has refused to bow down before the US duress. In this respect, Pakistan’s foreign office responded by saying, “Be it the tribal areas or any other part, Pakistan will proceed in accordance with its own priorities and plans.” In the recent past, ISPR spokesman Major-General Athar Abbas had stated that Pakistan’s military is engaged in eliminating militancy in other tribal areas in accordance with its programme and military operation in North Waziristan has not yet been decided.

However, quite opposite to the ill-conceived thoughts of some political experts, it looks clear that the US has agreed with Pakistan’s stand in the matter.                              Ful Story

India’s Water War against Pakistan

On March 22 every year, World Water Day is being celebrated on global level, focusing attention on the world’s water crisis as well as the solutions to address it. In this context, with reference to India and Pakistan, the issue of water needs special notice.

Notably, since the 9/11 tragedy, international community has been taking war against terrorism seriously, while there are also other forms of bloodless wars, being waged in the world and the same are like terrorism. In these terms, India has been waging water war against Pakistan.

In the recent past, while addressing Islamabad’s concerns by speaking in diplomatic language, Indus Water Commissioner of India G. Ranganathan  stated, “India had been affected as much as Pakistan due to water shortage in the Indus.” He denied, saying: “Indian decision to build dams on rivers has led to water shortage in Pakistan”, while rejecting Islamabad’s concerns regarding water-theft by New Delhi including violation of the Indus Water Treaty, assuring his counterpart, Indus Water Commissioner of Pakistan, Syed Jamaat Ali Shah that all issues, relating to water between Pakistan and India would be resolved through dialogue.

In international politics of today, these are deeds, not words which matter, so ground realties are quite different as to what G. Ranganathan indicated in his statement. In fact, India is acting upon water war against Pakistan.                                                                                  Ful Story

Different War’ against Pakistan

Unlike the past wars, being fought between two sovereign state actors through the traditional armies with tanks and machine guns, the arena of war has changed. In the ongoing era, non-state actors have made it difficult for the military to serve alone as the automatic dominant sphere in every war, covering all the land, sea and space domains. Now, lethal weapons such as suicide attacks, bomb blasts, targeted killings and similar other tactics used by the terrorists, can be more harmful in damaging the interest of a rival country. As part of the new warfare, these tactics are employed by the foreign enemy inside a rival country, and the phenomenon can rightly be called the ‘different war.’Judging in these terms, Pakistan has become special target of the ‘different war’ being waged by external powers such as America, India and Israel through their secret agencies like CIA, RAW and Mossad which have also availed the services of foreigners and some Pakistani nationals in order to conduct subversive acts in Pakistan. In this connection, although terrorist events such as suicide attacks, bomb blasts and targeted killings have been conducted by these external enemies intermittently in the last 10 years, yet such incidents have accelerated in the past few months. In this regard, on March 8 this year, more than 30 people have been killed when an explosive loaded car exploded near the main gate of a sensitive agency in Faisalabad.                                    Ful Story

Who are behind Shahbaz Bhatti’s Murder?

Who are behind Shahbaz Bhatti’s Murder?:
In wake of continued terrorist acts in Pakistan, on March 2 this year the cold-blooded murder of the country’s Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti has intensified the debate that as to who are behind his assassination.

Although Tehrik-e-Taliban-Pakistan, a militant group has taken the responsibility of Shabaz’s murder, yet Pakistan’s intelligence and security agencies are investigating in connection with some foreign hands or the possible involvement of Xe International, (formerly Blackwater) and indian intelligence agency RAW, specifically looking into the activities of a white foreigner who is acting as a “security consultant” in Islamabad.

In this regard, some high officials of Pakistan have revealed that a third hand or party might be involved in the assassination of the federal minister for minorities.

Some intelligence officials told a Pakistani newspaper that they found suspect—the activities of the foreigner who was living under the umbrella of a NGO and running an office in sector G-11 of Islamabad. They indicated, “nobody knows what he is doing in Islamabad and on what mission”, he is. The paper explained that the foreigner also met with some security officers a couple of days back posing as “security consultant” and interviewed them regarding the current security situation of Pakistan, asking them whether Pakistan could face Libya-like situation in the near future.                                                              Ful Story

Why India-Pak Dialogue Fails?

Why India-Pak Dialogue Fails?
Recently, India and Pakistan have decided to resume the dialogue process through their home secretaries who will hold talks on March 28 and 29 on a host of issues including the progress in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and culprits of the Samjhota Express blast. In this regard, Islamabad has conveyed to New Delhi its consent to the meeting after home secretary G K Pillai extended the invitation to Pakistan’s Interior Secretary Chaudhry Qamar Zaman. India had proposed two sets of dates—March 21-22 and March 28-29.

The talks in March will be the first structured bilateral home secretary-level meeting on counter-terrorism after the recent Indo-Pak decision to resume comprehensive talks. Under the pretext of Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008, India had suspended the composite dialogue with Pakistan.

In the recent past, although Foreign ministers of Pakistan and India ended their dialogue with a positive note as both the countries termed their talks ‘useful’ and vowed that the talks would pave the way for serious, comprehensive and sustainable dialogue between the two countries, yet the same failed without producing tangible results. In this context, Pakistan’s former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had remarked that India was not mentally ready for talks, as it wanted to discuss only selective issues.        Ful Story
